Hotwire Hotel: 3* Orlando (Disney Main Gate-Celebration) Mystic Dunes

Booked this on day of check-in. Outstanding value. Resort was as described, and our unit also had a 2 person jacuzzi bath. I was NOT charged a resort fee. :) In-room wired internet did not work (optional charge of $9.95 per day), but free wireless internet worked by the pool. In-room laundry was very handy. Villa was quiet; our building appeared to be no more than half full. Other buildings nearby appeared to be nearly full based on the parking lots. Perhaps these were upgraded villas reserved for timeshare owners. Our villa overlooked a fairway on the golf course, but unlike other villas, it had just a tiny balcony - a ledge really, only big enough to stick your head outside for a smoke. Kitchen was adequate, although it contained no dishwasher like other timeshare units have. Location was very convenient to US 192 shopping/dining, and to Disney parks.

A charming lady called our villa on the first morning to invite us to a free buffet breakfast. When we arrived, it was clear that folks arriving were to be assigned a salesperson for a timeshare pitch. We were seated, but apart from the area where salespeople were working the tables. I assume this is because my spouse was not present to hear the sales pitch/agree to buy anything. In any case, we still received a nice free and friendly breakfast, but were not invited back the next morning. I heard/observed some of the sales pitches. They were high pressure in at least one case - a couple tried to go outside to get some air and a few salespeople questioned them, apparently fearing that they were leaving the presentation. I mention all this because it seems to me that if $64 one bedroom villa can be had on Hotwire in season, why lock into a timeshare?
