I have been having a tough time getting a succesful bid for a 4* hotel in zone 1 (St. Catharines) for Niagara Falls, ON for the first week of Aug. I started with $80 and now am up to $120 but still rejected. Does anyone have any idea of what I should expect to pay for an accepted bid? I saw a few posts for winter bids at around $80 but I do not see anything for summer time bids.

Thanks.

I'm guessing your very close... maybe another $5-$10 should do it.

Is $120 your current budget or are you willing to go a little higher?

I'm willing to go a little higher (I just tried $125 and was again rejected). Do you know if there is is something special occuring during the dates I'm bidding for? Would it make a difference if I bid for the followng week (Aug 8 - 10)?

This is peak season for the area, so i'm guessing that hotels have not yet deeply discounted their rates, instead hoping the economy continues to improve and they'll be able to sell more rooms on their own (at full price) before needing to deeply discount them thru the opaque suppliers.

What is the best rate you're able to find at a 4* hotel thru conventional booking channels?
