s10350 Posted January 27, 2005 Report Posted January 27, 2005 I'm new to this priceline stuff. Three of us are looking to go to Las Vegas from 2/24/05 to 2/28/05. We would prefer a four star hotel. We have been considering the Golden Nugget. All prices we have found so far including airfare are around $450 per person. Is it likely to find anything under $350 per person for these dates? We would also like a hotel that has a pool. Thanks,Josh
thereuare Posted January 28, 2005 Report Posted January 28, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! To answer your question we'll need to know where you are flying from? Also, have you ever been to Vegas? If not, i wouldn't stay downtown and i'd choose a place more centrally located on the strip. If you let us know the answers to the above we'll try to advise on your best options. s10350 Posted January 28, 2005 Author Report Posted January 28, 2005 I suppose that would help..completely forgot that part. We are flying out of Minneapolis, MN. The first trip we stayed downtown so we are kind of leaning towards finding something on the strip. I assume it would usually be more expensive to get on the strip.Josh
thereuare Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 Is that $450/pp including taxes and/or fees? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
s10350 Posted January 29, 2005 Author Report Posted January 29, 2005 Yes the total for Golden Nugget was 438.47 pp. It says it includes taxes and surcharges. I found that on Expedia.Josh
thereuare Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 That's a good rate for that package, but i also found a PACKAGE AT THE IMPERIAL PALACE for $414/pp and it puts you at a great strip location. For a little more, there is a package at the Exacalibur for $432. Although neither are my first choice of hotels, i'd sooner take either one of them over the Golden Nugget simply from a location point of view.Your flights are about $275/pp.... so to hit the price you mentioned of $350/pp you would have to spend $225 total for 4 nites lodging, and that is not likely realistic for a stay that encompasses a weekend.Let us know if you can be of further assistance and what you ultimately end up doing for this stay. If you end up booking the above package(s), please use our Expedia link to do so. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
s10350 Posted January 30, 2005 Author Report Posted January 30, 2005 So you don't think it's possible to get lower then that using priceline?Josh
thereuare Posted January 31, 2005 Report Posted January 31, 2005 Priceline's vacation package is not a bidding process... they show hotels and prices but not actual flights. So you can see if there are any packages that are more appealing (but i don't think there are), but realize that not knowing the actual flights times is a deal breaker for most. Theoretically you could leave on your vacation on a very late in the evening flight and return on a very early flight... essentially cutting your trip short by two days. :) Usually the savings are not dramtaic enough for most to give up choosing their flight times, and as i said previously, i didn't see anything that beat the deals discussed above.
