Eric1025 Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 I will be visiting on 3/10 (well midnight arrival 3/11) near Westlake Village, CA. I don't mind staying 10-15 minutes away, maybe in Thousand Oaks, CA. I will be departing early morning 3/17. I would like to find a decent (2.5 or 3 *) hotel in the area. Since I am renting a car, I was also wondering on suggestions of staying near LAX for 3/16 evening and turning in the car a day early, or staying at the same hotel throughout. Thoughts?Thank you!Eric
thereuare Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!I was also wondering on suggestions of staying near LAX for 3/16 evening and turning in the car a day early, or staying at the same hotel throughout. Thoughts? This is really personal preference along with your plans... what are your plans for the nite of the 16th? How early is your flight on the 17th? How much of an inconvenience do you consider it to be to pack up all your things only to immediately go to another hotel and unpack some of the items you will need for you one nite stay at LAX?What would be the purpose of making the move to LAX... save money on parking? additional nite expense of the rental car? Be close to LAX for an early fight? What is your per nite budget for this stay? Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel or is your goal the least expensive 2.5* or better for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Eric1025 Posted March 2, 2010 Author Report Posted March 2, 2010 I have decided to stay with friends for the evening of the 16th, near the airport. So, yes, a least expensive 2.5* (or better) hotel for 3/10-3/15 with the cheapest budget possible. My "free" award travel ticket has now cost me $110 due to fees & luggage... so, please help :)

thereuare Posted March 3, 2010 Report Posted March 3, 2010 With not too much time on your hands, and no re-bid zones, i'd start by bidding $35 for a 2.5 star property... if that is rejected wait 24 hour and try $40.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Any questions feel free to ask.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
