chicaholic4ever Posted March 2, 2010 Author Report Posted March 2, 2010 What is your maximum bid for a 3.5* hotel in this are for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Based on the posts here they won it from $56 to 59 so I really want to get that rate although June might be higher so I can go until $72?Is that ok for June 3-4?
martyYYZ1 Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 I've bid up to $100 for mid march without any luck even though the rate at marriott.com is $159 (same as your date). Maybe they haven't released any inventory? You still have lots of time so I'd wait until the date gets closer
thereuare Posted March 2, 2010 Report Posted March 2, 2010 We have seen one Priceline Hotel Win at the 3.5* level for dates well into the future (August '10) but that win is for a Sunday nite, typically the slowest nite for hotels.Given so much time before your stay i'd be inclined to keep your bidding at $60 and under for the time being, bidding twice a week at this point (and more than that you may begin to get frustrated). If still unsuccessful in the next 4-6 weeks, or if you see others winning but at a higher rate, i'd look to raise your bid at that time. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated as to your progress and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. chicaholic4ever Posted March 12, 2010 Author Report Posted March 12, 2010 Got the room for $75-3.5* Buffalo Marriott Amherst. Started with $61 since the past days my lower bids were not being accepted at all. Then $65 then finally got it at $75. Really wanted to get it at $60 but no luck there. Still the rooms are going for $160 during those dates so not bad. Now to get my rental minivan! I booked thru the PRICELINE link here. Thank you. This is addicting! I did call Marriott and they said we could park our car there since we are doing Park, Sleep Fly to Disneyworld!
thereuare Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Congratulations on your success! While perhaps a few dollars more than you originally intended to spend, this looks to be an excellent deal for this property for this nite. Glad to see you're happy with the results and this will work well for your needs.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
