ryknow23 Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 This is my first post. Our bid of $78 was received for the Westin San Diego. We made two previous bids at $75 and $76 and were rejected. $78 was accepted and it took about 1 week to put in all three bids. We used the PRICELINE box in the upper right area of the betterbidding.com page. Worked like a charm. Thanks,Rick
thereuare Posted February 28, 2010 Report Posted February 28, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you're happy with the results and the deal you received. Can you please add a reply to this thread with the date(s) of your stay so we can add this information to the topic title and enable your win to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins. Also, it sounds like you weren't using re-bid zones in your bidding, which would have enabled you to make all of the bids above (and many more) all in the same bidding session. See this thread: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask any questions you have on this subject and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before using this strategy in the future (ie- you have 13 re-bid zones when bidding 4* in San Diego)Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
ryknow23 Posted March 31, 2010 Author Report Posted March 31, 2010 We stayed from March 10-14 (4 nights) at the Westin San Diego. I did not use the re-bid zones in my bidding, according to my understanding of the post you linked to. I always bid in the same zone, since we wanted to stay in a certain area but waited 24 hours (at least) between each bid. I used the list of "Recent Wins" from the link of hotels on the maps to give me an idea of what to bid for that area. Thanks,Rick
