PepsiDK Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Hi!I visited NYC last year with my BF, and i fell in love with the city, so this year i'm comming back - This time with my father! We would like a room, with a location in TS, ESB or CM.Our budget is $190 incl tax!I've never used PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, so can anyone please help me... What to do now?? :)Thanks
PepsiDK Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 I've seen a deal on HOTWIRE, for $179,5 incl tax for a 3.5 star in CM area.Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness Center, High-speed Internet Access. What is your best guess? "The New Yorker Hotel"?
AaronJB Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The amenity set for that HOTWIRE listing would be a match for the New Yorker or Doubletree Chelsea. How many people are in your party? Additionally, PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
PepsiDK Posted February 23, 2010 Author Report Posted February 23, 2010 We are only 2 in our party...
thereuare Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 The HOTWIRE offering above shows a tripadvisor rating of 4.0/5.0 which would make the New Yorker much more likely than the Doubletree. Will this HOTWIRE property work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
PepsiDK Posted February 23, 2010 Author Report Posted February 23, 2010 Thanks! The price is now $146 pr. night plus taxes! Is that a good deal?"The New Yorker" would work out well, but i do have a question about the hotel. On other websites there is a choice of booking a regular room and a renovated room. What are the chances of getting a renovated room? :)
AaronJB Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 PRICELINE or HOTWIRE reservations are not eligible for upgrades, but you could call ahead and request it - if the hotel says no, you could try again at check-in.The New Yorker is $153 on these dates via Expedia.com. Do you require two beds? If not, you could see if you could get a better deal via PRICELINE before taking the New Yorker offer.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. (or Expedia link if you go that route)
PepsiDK Posted February 24, 2010 Author Report Posted February 24, 2010 After a couple of days thinking about booking The New Yorker Hotel, i thought i would give PRICELINE a try!I got Warwick for $150, wich is only $4 more than The New Yorker, so i'm happy!
AaronJB Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 Congratulations on your success. :)I'm glad to hear that you decided to go with PRICELINE instead, as the HOTWIRE discount for the New Yorker was not substantial. At $220 regular rate versus a $150 PRICELINE bid, this is a much better discount.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay
