tsuzukiasato Posted February 24, 2010 Report Posted February 24, 2010 I planned to stay one night at the LAX airport after my cruise trip, as I will need the shuttle bus service from the hotel. I've been trying to bid a 4* hotel since yesterday with the price of $55. However, priceline rejected my offer. I tried again to bid it at $56 after 24 hrs, but still not success. Please help, thanks!

tsuzukiasato Posted February 25, 2010 Author Report Posted February 25, 2010 Thanks~ My budget for the 4* hotel in LAX is below $60 before tax. I saw others were able to bid a 4* hotel around the price of $55 - $65, that's why I start bidding at $55 and raise up $1 every 24 hours.
yellowdog Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 and raise up $1 every 24 hours. Please read this link: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained Let us know if you have any question before you get a strategy.Yellowdog.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
tsuzukiasato Posted February 25, 2010 Author Report Posted February 25, 2010 Thanks!! I tried again today by raising the price to $57, priceline offer me to pay an extra $17 to get the hotel, but I refused this offer. Then, I tried to add another re-bid zone "Lawndale" and raise up to $60. Sadly, I'm still unable to get the hotel. I saw from the past post that many people are able to bid a 4* hotel at LAX with price of $55. Wondering if the night that I want to bid have any events going on, that's why priceline refuse my offer.
thereuare Posted February 25, 2010 Report Posted February 25, 2010 Rates are date specific, so whether it's something happening in town or a wedding at the hotel taking a large block rooms, something is causing the hotels to not offer deeply discounted inventory at the moment (although HOTWIRE does have a 4* hotel at $79 so i suspect you may not be too far off and rates aren't that high at the moment)You do have plenty of time so i wouldn't necessarily compromise on your 4* rating at this point in time, instread try bidding again every 3 days or so.You do have THREE re-bid zones available, which can give you multiple bids, so if you'd like help with a bidding strategy let us know and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated and let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. tsuzukiasato Posted February 27, 2010 Author Report Posted February 27, 2010 Thanks for all the advice. I booked the Crown Plaza Hotel by accident with the price of $54/night... :) I was being careless and accidentally click the 3.5* hotel when I re-bid by adding the re-bid zone of Lawndale. Lucky that this hotel do offer Airport Shuttle, really need to be careful next time and shouldn't msn and bidding at the same time.. :)Thanks for all the help, I did used the PRICELINE link when I bidded it!
yellowdog Posted February 27, 2010 Report Posted February 27, 2010 Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding :) Maybe not your first pick of hotel. But you got the shuttle and it's only for one night. Enjoy your stay.Yellowdog.
