leafchick Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 Finally got a bite on Brussels took three bids (60, 70, 75) and finally got the Sheraton March 22 -25. When you're saving almost 300 over the three nights, I'm happy (hope hotel does not dissapoint).

Romelle Posted February 23, 2010 Report Posted February 23, 2010 leafchick,My reaction to Priceline hotels has ALWAYS run from OK to ecstatic. Have never had a bad one. I'm sure you will be fine.If you haven't traveled to Europe before, there are some minor differences in hotels there vs US hotels. They tend to be smaller, and rarely have wash cloths (although that is starting to change). If you aren't a cab person, you might want to study the train/metro situation a little before you get to Brussels and bring a map. It is really very simple and inexpensive, but not readily apparent. And after hours there isn't a city map or information booth to be found in the Eurostar arrival station. I had to rely on some very fractured English and the kindness of strangers. Hope you plan to visit that big model of the iron atom. Amazing.Romelle
leafchick Posted February 27, 2010 Author Report Posted February 27, 2010 Thank-you Romelle for sharing the info and your experiences. When I was last in Brussels (for 1 day) we had a car and this time I won't. I'll definitely take some time to learn the metro system - sounds like an adventure!Appreciate the advice.
