Priceline Hotel: 4* NYC (MTW) Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers

Hi! Hotwire just listed a 4 * hotel in Times Square area for 3/5-3/7. Amenities listed are gym,restaurant, computer and internet. Would you know what that hotel might be?

These amenities are common in NYC but the above combination does match previous reports for the Crowne Plaza so that would be my best guess.

We have Dinner/Services Fri. night3/5 E. 79th St, Bar Mitzvah, 3/6 same location in a.m.,party in afternoon at S. Seaport, Theatre in 3/6 in evening. Where best to stay? Would like 3.5-4 star hotel? Thanks for help.Kathy

There is a 3.5* in the Times Square-Theater District for $116 for these dates w/boutique, breakfast, restaurant and internet. However, that property has not yet been reported to the board. The Night Hotel would be a possible guess, but it could also be something else - still, $116 for a 3.5 w/breakfast seems like a nice option. The Manhattan Centre Hotel is a 4* nearby that actually has a $99 regular rate on Expedia.com for these dates, which is impressive. Plus, coupon code 10WINTER takes another $10 off per night on Expedia.com.

There's also a 4* boutique property in TS for these dates on HOTWIRE for $139 (Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, which would likely be the Mela)

Your plans are really scattered throughout the city... the Bar Mitzvah is on the UES, the party is in lower manhattan (South Street Seaport, correct?), and the theater district is in midtown on the west side. You're going to have to be doing a bit of traveling regardless of where you stay... will you be travelling via subway to your locations?

I'm sorry I didn't mean to say "that" neighborhood, I was asking which neighborhood. We might take combo of subways and cabs. However, it's impossible to get a cab after theatre so I would like to either be able to walk back to hotel or take a subway to the hotel.

Usually if you walk a block or two away from the theatre it's not as difficult to get a cab :) You won't be able to pick the exact location of your hotel, but if you stick with the midtown zones at the 4* or 3.5* levels (except for MTE at the 3.5* level), you should be somewhat centrally located and be 'ok' for your plans.

A hotel with the star rating, zone, and amenities associated with the HOTWIRE hotel has not been reported to the board. (although the Night seems like a pretty good guess)

HOTWIRE has what appears to be the Hotel Mela for $146/nite. This would be well located close to the Theatre District, within your stated budget above, and gets very good reviews?

Sorry waited too long on the Manhattan Centre, rates really went up. Just got announcement from HOTWIRE, after hearing from you will definitely book today.

Both hotels are in Times Square Hotel District:

4 star $129 Boutique, Fitness,Restaurant, High Speed Internet

3 1/2 star, $129, Boutique, breakfast of some sort, restaurant, High Speed Internet

The 4* is a match for the Hotel Mela so that would be my best guess for that one.

I'm not seeing the 3.5* above on my own HOTWIRE search for your dates. Are you still seeing this on your own HOTWIRE search?

Good and Bad news...maybe tactical error, but still happy. Bid $125 for Times Square, was not accepted, then went to $130 and added MTW and got Sheraton, but see somebody else got it for only $100 for 2 days later & weekdays should be more expensive. Still happy and did use your PRICELINE link as thanks for all your previous help. Kathy
