LA_FadeAway Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 I'm seeing a 3.5* hotel available for $112/nt in Downtown Vancouver West 6/1 - 6/3. The amenities appear to match the Westin Bayshore, minus the Spa. If so, they've downgraded it from a 4* to a 3.5* again. Do you think this is correct or is it possibly another hotel? Here are all the amenities:Smoke freeFitness CenterPoolRestaurantBusiness CenterLaundryHigh Speed InternetTennis NearbyAlso, is it possible to use your HOTWIRE link if I'm using an Entertainment Book coupon?Edit: I just noticed it says they are "still collecting reviews" for this hotel. Does that mean it's a new hotel? If so, I'm wondering if it might be the Coast Coal Harbour Hotel?
thereuare Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!YES, you can still use our HOTWIRE link. Please click our link to go to HOTWIRE, then once the page loads, type the URL provided in the Entertainment Book and proceed as usual. For the 3.5* HOTWIRE hotel above, the amenties match those of the Coast Plaza Hotel and Suites, but that property was last reported to the board at the 3* level, so i'm going to speculate that it has been upraded since last reported and that would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
LA_FadeAway Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 Thanks for the reply! I went ahead and tried Priceline again. I've been trying for several weeks for a 4* and never bid over $105. Tonight I went as high as $110 on just the Downtown area and then started over and went up to $110 including the Granville Entertainment District. At $110 my bid was accepted and I got the Sheraton Wall Centre. I was also using $10/nt Priceline bonus cash through the Entertainment Coupon book, so I'm really only paying $100/nt. Not a bad deal considering HOTWIRE appears to have the same hotel at $129/nt. I did open PRICELINE using the link on this forum first before using the link in my Bonus Cash e-mail, including each time I started over with a new browser, so hopefully that worked.
AaronJB Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Congratulations on your success. Quite a nice deal for Vancouver in the Summer! :) Glad you are pleased with the result.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and for using the site's PRICELINE link to start your purchase.Enjoy your stay.
