thereuare Posted February 20, 2010 Report Posted February 20, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!Best guess for the above is the Royal Decameron Costa Flamingos Resort, with the "Near Beach" icon being changed to a "Beachfront" icon since last reported to the board (which was nearly 2 years ago so plenty of time for this change to have taken place)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too!.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. nrp0450 Posted February 21, 2010 Author Report Posted February 21, 2010 Thanks for the quick reply. I think I'll be booking this soon. And I'll definitely use your HOTWIRE link. Quick question just to see if I'm understanding this forum, is the information in the "Hotwire Hotel List - Mexico" post still current? (the post date was 2003, but maybe it can be updated without needing to change the date) Is that page the place to look to try and figure what hotel I might be getting? This Royal Decameron hotel shows as 'near beach' on that page, which I think is what you were saying above. But the two most recent reports on the hotel show it as beachfront, which I've confirmed is actually the case. So I'm wondering if maybe that original hotel list doesn't get updated. Help me understand how it works and where I should be looking to figure out what hotel I'm looking at.
yellowdog Posted February 21, 2010 Report Posted February 21, 2010 nrp0450We update the hotel lists as soon as we got a report of a change that has been made. So the list is updated but started 2003.'near beach' or "beachfront" is an alternation that HOTWIRE use. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and let us know how it goes or if you need any additional help with your stay.Yellowdog.
nrp0450 Posted February 22, 2010 Author Report Posted February 22, 2010 I booked this last night (using your HOTWIRE link) and you had it right, it's the Royal Decameron. We're pleased and looking forward to our vacation. We ended up doing 6/2 to 6/8 and the price per night was $103. Should I be posting this information in a new thread? Also, yellowdog, are you saying that on Hotwire 'beachfront' and 'near beach' are interchangeable?
thereuare Posted February 22, 2010 Report Posted February 22, 2010 Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that you're happy with the results. Nice to see the price was so good that you decided to extend an extra day!"Beach Access" and "Near Beach" are interchangable... "Beachfront" is different. We must have missed the reported 'beachfront' change at this hotel's last reported win, but have since updated the Hotwire Hotel List. We do our best, but every now and then we miss one :)Thank you for sharing your results with the board and using our HOTWIRE link to begin your purchase.Enjoy your stay.
