Priceline Hotel: Is this a good rate?

Hi,

Does anyone know if $115 is a good rate at Affinia Chicago 16-20th July? Do you think I could do significantly better using PRICELINE or HOTWIRE now or close to the summer?

I think you could do at least moderately better by using HOTWIRE or PRICELINE; HOTWIRE has a 4* NMA for $95, and you could see if PRICELINE could take a bit at least somewhat better than that ($75-80 for a 4* in the River North/NMA zone.)

... athough keep in mind that if you go the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE route, you may (likely) receive a hotel other than the Affinia Chicago. Not sure if this was a hotel you were trying to target or were just interested due to the price.

I'm seeing a 4* in the NMA-Water Tower-Gold Coast area on HOTWIRE w/fitness, restaurant, internet and business. This could be the Allerton, Knickerbocker, Drake or Westin Michigan Ave, but with the 4/5 tripadvisor rating I'm currently seeing on the detail page, this would appear to be a match for the Knickerbocker or Drake. You could likely do moderately better bidding on a 4* in the River North/NMA area, and you could start reasonably low, given how much time you have until your stay.
