Priceline Hotel: 4* Las Vegas (Summerlin) Red Rock Casino

So I went ahead and used the PRICELINE link that you offered. I bid on the south strip for 4* and 5*, then added Summerlin as a zone because it didnt show any 4 or 5 star hotels. Therefore, I won 3 nights at the Red Rock for $95 per night. The resort is 10 miles out of town and when I went to their website, I could get a room cheaper than what I just paid.

I am upset and thoroughly disgusted. The customer service dept. said I was out of luck but offered me a $50 credit for my next purchase which will take 4 to 6 weeks to come by email.

Definitely not impressed.

Sorry to hear you received a hotel in a zone that you didn't intend. See the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List:

The correct way to determine your re-bid zones is in this thread: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained

Following the techniques in the thread above you'll see, as you now know, that Summerlin contains both 4* rated and Resort rated properties... and therefore is not a re-bid zones when bidding for a 4* hotel.

As well, for future bidding, note that the star rating you select is the minimum you are willing to accept, and PRICELINE will always try to upgrade you to the a higher rated hotel. So when determining re-bid zones it's not just that the zone doesn't contain hotels at the star level you're bidding, but that it only contains hotels that are rated lower than the star level you have selected.

Feel free to ask for help before making your next opaque purchase.

Thank you for the advice on rebidding, however, I can assure you I will not be using this method ever again. Nor do I consider this a win.

The dates are April 8th to the 11th.
