NY Pass, City Pass, or explorer pass

Hello I was wondering what I should get. first timer to NY.

I get to NY on Feb 25th and thursday, i'm watching a broadway show

friday - sight seeing

sat till late afternoon - sight seeing

free sunday to do anything

go home monday

I was thinking the 3 day bus hopper NY pass. but $180 per person is kinda expensive. I figured the bus would be useful to get to the attractions or will the subway work out?

for sure I want to see the ESB and Statue of Liberty, everything else is a bonus.

You can go here to get Hop On Hop Off Bus passes... but remember that NYC offers an 'unlimited metrocard' to ride the bud and/or subway, which if you know what you want to see/do and plan your day, you can use to get from site-to-site on your own.

EDIT TO ADD: note that if you intend to go to the Statue of Liberty (as opposed to see it from the island for from the Staten Island Ferry, it can easily turn into an all day affair as you wait online to take the boat to the Statue and wait oline again to get back to Manhattan)

Forget the on-off bus pass thing. $180 is a HUGE rip-off!

Buy an unlimited metrocard- they are valid on all subways and MTA buses in the city. You need to decide between buying an unlimited each day (8.25) or for 7-days ($27). I recommend you get the 7 day even though you are only there for 4 because you can avoid the lines at the machine, and the 7 day is cheaper than 4 single days.

The subway and buses take you pretty much anywhere you need to go in the city- and fast (except the statue of liberty- you need to take a boat)!
