amerikajin777 Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 Hello Everyone, I am attending a wedding over Memorial Day in Vegas and I'm trying to figure out whether to use PRICELINE or not. The wedding is at a place behind Bally's so we don't want to stay too far away from that. I've been seeing $125 after taxes for Bally's which is okay, but seems a little overpriced. I'd be okay with that price if it was at a higher end place or for Bally's level but cheaper. Should I put in less or should I just wait in general. I'm not sure if i have a better chance closer to the dates. We will be staying Friday night through Tuesday morning (4 nights).THanks!
AaronJB Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)So, just to confirm, your dates are 5/28/10-6/1/10? What would be your desired budget/star rating? I'm seeing a 4* in the Central Strip area w/Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Spa for $109 for these dates, which would likely be Planet Hollywood, which is not far. PRICELINE would likely result in a cheaper price, but you would have less control over where you ended up in the zone. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
amerikajin777 Posted February 19, 2010 Author Report Posted February 19, 2010 I don't think that we'd want to spend more than $125. Do you think that I could get 5* on PL for that? Basically if I don't get to make a specific choice, then I'd either expect a 4* for somewhat less than $109 or a 5* for that price. I'm trying to figure out what i should start at and where i might end up.
thereuare Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 If you were successful for a 5* i think the most likely hotel would be the Trump, which also has a $15/day resort fee, so including this in your maximum bid (making your maximum closer to $95) i'm guessing may put you out of the running... but you could always try.I'm trying to figure out what i should start at and where i might end up.As noted above, when using PRICELINE, you're subject to any hotel in the zone, and can't really target/avoid or have much insight as to which property you're likely tyo get.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. If you thinking bidding on PRICELINE is your best course of action, let us know if you want to first try for a 5* or 4* hotel and your maximum bid. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
