jtcoolk Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 I need help bidding for a Resort for one night on 3/21. I have used San Juan zone and Resort but I am currently at $108 and being rejected. And I see that other people have gotten the Caribe Hilton and Intercontinental under $100 for exact same date. Any ideas? I am new to this. Thanks!
jtcoolk Posted February 17, 2010 Author Report Posted February 17, 2010 I just checked Hotwire and there is a 4 star with the following amenities for $152 per night (doesn't seem like a great deal?):ResortBeachfrontCasinoPoolRestaurantBusiness CenterLaundry FacilitiesHigh-Speed Internetrecommended by 85% reviews
thereuare Posted February 17, 2010 Report Posted February 17, 2010 Rates fluctuate based upon supply/demand... so apparently rates for this nite have gone up since those other users won their respective hotel(s).What is your maximum bid for this stay?In regards to the HOTWIRE property... would you pay the $150 rate or would you sooner bid higher than you have on PRICELINE? If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to this offering and then click the "See all amenities" link under the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
jtcoolk Posted February 17, 2010 Author Report Posted February 17, 2010 On Hotwire it lists Spa and Tennis when I click on other amenities. On Priceline we are willing to go up to $130 per night.
thereuare Posted February 18, 2010 Report Posted February 18, 2010 The HOTWIRE property above matches previous reports for the Inter-Continental so that would be my best guess for this one.Do you want to move forward with that or do you want to bid on PRICELINE up to $130?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
jtcoolk Posted February 18, 2010 Author Report Posted February 18, 2010 Would still like to try PRICELINE up to $130, otherwise the Intercontinental would be fine for $153. What are my re-bid zones? Thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 You need to know how to determine you re-bid zones on your own since they can change at any time and therefore need to be checked before every bidding cycle to make sure that nothing has changed.See this thread: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask any questions you may have. If you're confused by the previous link just post back and we'll break it down further for you. (HINT: you currently have SIX re-bid zones when bidding for a Resort hotel in San Juan)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
