Hotwire Hotel: 3* Paris (Opera-Grand Boulevard) Mondial

I checked the list and the recent wins ( the only amenity is hi-speed internet ) 3 stars 99USD March 2-4th. Was fully expecting Le Tour d'Auvernge which can be had on booking.com for 136 including breakfast. I didn't need breakfast and decided to save 70 bucks.

What a terrible idea !

I "got" Mondial hotel - rated #1057 of 1100 Paris hotels. The photos look like motel 6 - no actually much worse, stains, filth , mold ...

To add an insult to injury - it can be bought everywhere for $105 USD - with breakfast.

Ugh , I am really mad at HOTWIRE for even considering such hotels .

They certainly lost me s a customer.

Sorry to hear you're disappointed with the results.

I "got" Mondial hotel - rated #1057 of 1100 Paris hotels.

It's actually rated 1057 out of 1858 hotels... which is just about the middle of the road. While perhaps not what you were expecting, Expedia also rates this hotel 3* and the reviews don't seem that bad for a 3* hotel in Europe. Keep in mind that hotel ratings in Europe are a bit more 'generous' than here in the States... you can usually deduct a half/full star from the rating for the US equivalent.

I'd give it a go... if you have a tangible problem with the room upon check-in try to work it out with the hotel, if you are unable to resolve it try calling HOTWIRE and have them speak to the hotel on your behalf.
