A friend and I flew up to NYC a few weekends ago and scored a GREAT hotel which is not on the list of hotels for the Midtown East zone so the moderator may want to add it. We were hoping to get the Affinia Dumont so we were bidding midtown east. Used a bunch of free re-bids and was increasing in $2 increments until it took at a flat $100. Total with taxes and fees at this hotel was $127.00. This was an especially excellent deal considering it is one of the top rated in NYC and rates that weekend started at $339. It's a very quiet low-key hotel with wonderful service at about 38th and Lex. The staff could not have been more wonderful and even gave us a room with a great view of the Empire State Building. Actually, I would probably rate this hotel about a 4.5 star. It also has soundproof windows and was probably the best I've ever slept at a hotel in NYC.
