Hotwire Hotel: 4* DC (Dupont Circle-Embassy Row) Omni Shoreham

I'm going to DC March 13-19. I realize that this is a busy time of year for DC and am curious as to whether or not it's even worth trying to bid on a hotel. I haven't seen any wins for mid-March in this forum. Should I just expect to pay full price?

I've been bidding $90-100 on a 4* in Dupont Circle, hoping for Hotel Palomar. The bids seem reasonable based on past wins, but perhaps they're too low for the time of year I'm going. I recently bid up to $95 on a 3.5* in the same area, assuming I'd easily get the Marriott, but no such luck.

Switching hotels mid-trip is out of the question and I'm mainly interested in staying in Dupont Circle, although I would also consider Downtown. I'm willing to go up to $150, although $125 is my preferred maximum.

I also am having trouble booking in mid March, 3/11 thru 3/16, so will be interested in any feedback. I am unsuccessfully up to $102 for a 4* or 3.5* in White House, Convention Center, DuPont Circle, and Georgetown. I noticed Hotwire's price for a 4* on my dates has risen from $129 to $135 in the past few days.

HOTWIRE has what appears to be the Omni Shoreham for your dates for $129/nite... would this work for your plans?

If so, do you want to try bidding higher on PRICELINE for a 4* in the Dupont Circle zone in hopes of getting a better rate (but acceting any 4* hotel iln the zone, not being able to take a guess as to the hotel you may receive)... or would you prefer to just take the HOTWIRE offer?

If not, what is the best rate you're able to find at a hotel for these dates thru conventional booking channels?

I've never used Hotwire, so I'm glad you pointed out the deals there. I see a 4* in Dupont for $126 which must be the Omni deal. I also see a 3.5* in Dupont for $119. Would that probably be the Marriott?

I'll most likely take one of these two Hotwire deals unless you have a different suggestion.

I went to the Hotwire forum and discovered the hotel list with all of the amenities. I used that to figure out that the $119 hotel was probably the Normandy and the $126 hotel was probably the Omni. I used your HOTWIRE link to accept the $126 deal and it confirmed that it was the Omni. Thank you so much for your help! :)

I used the provided HOTWIRE link and got the Omni Shoreham for $126/night.
