Hotwire Hotel: 3* Orlando (Lake Buena Vista-Downtown Disney) Country Inn and Suites

I need a hotel for 2 nights (4/23-25) and would like to get a 3.5* in the Lake Buena Vista area. Over the last 6 weeks or so, I have been bidding in the $40-$54 range with no success. I have a backup reservation at the Regal Sun ($99/night), but would prefer something a little better (Embassy Suites is my real target...free breakfast :) ). So, my question is should I try to gradually increase my bids (with a max of around $60) OR should I just continue to bid in the same range until my trip gets much closer?

For what star rating have you been bidding? Your dates are no buzy period for Orlando.

3.5 stars. Using the rebidding areas that don't have 3.5 star properties.

I'd very slowly increase your bids to a $60 ceiling and try again to that ceiling every few days. If your bids continue to be rejected, then you can look into other options.

Thanks. I logged out and then started rebidding including the Celebration area (which would be just fine too) and ran the bids up to $59 (I ran out of rebids there). Still no success. I'll wait another week and try again.

While not the 3.5* hotel you're looking for, i believe the Country Inn and Suites LBV can be had for just $45/nite and the reviews are pretty good and include breakfast... just adding an idea which seems like a decent value compared to your rejected bids, depending upon your needs for this trip.

This may be an option for us. We are not going to be spending much time there....pretty much just need a clean/comfortable place to sleep for 2 nights before our timeshare comes open on the 25th.

My assumption is that this is a Hotwire property and NOT a Priceline property (based on the hotel lists). Is this correct?

Search HOTWIRE for your dates and a 3* hotel in the Lake Buena Vista zone appears for ~$45 (your price may differ slightly) with Breakfast, Fitness, Pool, Business, Laundry, Internet

This matches previous reprots for the Country Inn and Suites so that would be my best guess.

There is only one non-condo 3* showing up (for $59) in Lake Buena Vista. I don't think it is the Country Inn, as these are the amenities: Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Golf Nearby, Kitchenette, Children's Activity Program.

Oh....I did 2 adults, 2 children. Will I have a problem if I bid for 2 and show up with 4?

I ended up booking the Country Inn and Suites Lake Buena Vista through HOTWIRE for $43/night. Thanks for the help!

Congratulations on your success!

HOTWIRE only guarantees occupancy for the guests you include on your search. You can request a room with two beds, but it will be at the hotel's descretion if they will be willing/able to accomodate your request.

On their website a 1BR suite, which has a bed plus a pullout sofabed, goes for ~$10 more per nite than their standard room, so if you have any problems at check-in i would see if you could upgrade to a 1BR suite for $10/nite or so.
