higfam Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 My family and I will just get back from a cruise and we need a nice hotel in Miami,FL. We will be there for two days so we need a hotel around things to do. Thanks
higfam Posted May 18, 2003 Author Report Posted May 18, 2003 should i use priceline hotwire or Hotels.com? i will be in Miami for 2 days and i will just get back from a long cruise. So i want a nice hotel not a crapy hotel in a geto. :)
ideafun Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 The Hyatt everyone speaks of has several things to do around it. Parrot Jungle Island - only 2 miles away
thereuare Posted May 18, 2003 Report Posted May 18, 2003 What part of Miami are you considering? The Hyatt mentioned above, although quite nice and a great hotel, is really in a downtown business-like area. It may be a great hotel to have as a "base" if you have a car and don't mind driving to your destinations, but it's not really a "we can walk everywhere from here" type of place (IMO).South Beach might be the area for you, as there's lots to do within walking distance, although it's somewhat pricier than the Downtown Miami area.Maybe Miami Beach area, although i don't know that area too well as far as what to see and do.What activities is it you're looking for (beach, nightlife, pool, bars, restaurants, etc, etc)? Is this for "adults only" or will you have children with you? If you say what you're looking for we can probably be of more assistance. If you're simply trying to avoid a "Days Inn" type of place, i think you'll do ok with Priceline and/or Hotwire if you stick with the higher rated hotels and resorts. If you give more information, we'll be able to give more specific advice as to whether Priceline/Hotwire may or may not be right for you in this instance. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
