Hotwire Hotel: Kapalua 3* Condo Pls Help Identify $99 May 6-14 2010

Please help identify 3* Kapalua condo with the following amenities: (it appears to be a new to Hotwire property)

Resort

Beachfront

1Bedroom

Fully Equipped Kitchen

Smoke Free Rooms

Free Parking

In Room Laundry

Fitness Center

Pool

Front Desk

Laundry Facilities

Kitchenette

Condo

My guess is the Kapalua Villas, but the price and the star rating seem a bit low for that property. My next guess is the Napili Shores, but it is not beachfront.

Unforutnately this property has not yet been reported to th board, and there are a LOT of condo properties in this area... Kapalua Villas, Noelani Condo Resort, Polynesian Shores, Westin Maui Condos, Kaleialoha Condos, Kulakane, just to name a few. You can try to see which one of these are smoke free to at least narrow down the possibilities, but amenities among condo properties are common enough that i think it will be very difficult to pin this one down.

You could consider seeing if this property appears for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make other plans for the balance of your stay.

Thanks for the advice. This one has the potential to be boom or bust. Minimum 2 days seems to be required, and yes there are a ton of condos in that area.

I will treat this cautiously and keep you updated once I decide what to do.

I am still doing my research on this as my visit is not until May. I have a general question about Hotwire though. In the amenities, it will sometimes show S for Studio or 1B for 1 bedroom. Some of the condo complexes may offer both room types. Is HOTWIRE offering me only what it says in the amenity description or could i get stuck with a different condo type at checkin?

What is shown would be the minimum you could receive... if it showed Studio/Suite i don't think you'd have much recourse if you were given a 1BR. If HOTWIRE showed a 1BR, in my opinion you'd have a legitimate complaint if given a Studio.

I think I may have figured out which place this is.

By changing the location in Hotwire from Kahana to Honolua, Kaanapali and finally Honokawai, I got the distance range from the town to the "mystery" resort. I used the Hotwire map to select and then locate the town center. Then I went to google earth and used the ruler to drag from town centers to potential condos.

The ranges

Kahana 0-2.7miles

Honolua 1-4 miles

Kaanapali 3.2-6 miles

Honokowai 1.5-4.2 miles

The bold underlined number above is nearly the exact distance to the Royal Kahana. The only other place possible would be the Kapalua Villas (within each range) but they shopuld carry higher than a 3* rating. It is also one of the few places that has in-room laundry. Napili shores carries a similar rating but without inroom washer dryer. Although I would never bet my paycheck on being 100% correct, it is probably a fairly good guess.

$99 for a one bedroom in the Royal Kahana is a great deal.

I have stayed there before and it was good, but I will pass on this one and spend a few more bucks for a place I like a little better.
