netflixnewyork Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 5* Strip North (5/28-5/30)$70, $80 Denied - $131 Counter - Used Better Bidding PRICELINE LinkSeems like a high counter? Any thoughts? Could the high counter mean this is the Wynn and not the Trump?
AaronJB Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The counter-offer would not indicate a particular property. What would be your budget per night? Is the Trump a property you are trying to/want to avoid? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase and searches.
netflixnewyork Posted February 9, 2010 Author Report Posted February 9, 2010 Would pay $95 or under for the Trump, but would happily pay up to $140 if I knew it was the Wynn.
AaronJB Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Unfortunately, there's no way to know. However, discounts seem rather tight for these dates - I'm seeing what appears to be the Trump on HOTWIRE for $147, while the hotel is $143 on Orbitz (and could likely be less with one of the Orbitz coupon codes, such as FABSAVE10 or WELCOME10.) HOTWIRE also has another Central Strip 5* for $209, while the Wynn is $220 via Orbitz (and if one of the coupon codes worked, would be even less.)You could try re-bidding higher to see if there was an acceptable point lower than the counter-offer, but it could be the Trump. Please use the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Orbitz.com links to start your purchase and searches.
thereuare Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Would pay $95 or under for the Trump, but would happily pay up to $140 if I knew it was the Wynn. Then i wouldn't bid above $95 via PRICELINE.Is this the route you'd like to go from here... if so we can suggest a strategy to follow. (although odds seem low given the HOTWIRE rates)Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links. netflixnewyork Posted February 10, 2010 Author Report Posted February 10, 2010 Yes, I have an actual cancellable reservation at the Wynn for $180/night, so I would like to keep bidding on PRICELINE all the way up until 48 hours in advance of my stay (Memorial Day weekend) in hopes of getting the Trump and save some money. I like the Wynn more, so unless I can get a pretty good deal on the Trump (which has $15/day resort fees) I will just keep my reservation through the Wynn. What is the strategy you suggest? Thanks again for your help. Will keep bidding through the Better Bidding PRICELINE and HOTWIRE Links.

Ernieg Posted February 11, 2010 Report Posted February 11, 2010 I believe that the Trump is listed at www.lastminutetravel.com for $92. Under the description it shows that the pool has a restaurant with Japanese cuisine. If you copy and paste that in google, it will come up with the Trump Hotel.
