doubled1018 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Im a newbie on here and priceline and I have a few questions i was hoping some generous people could help me with :) . Im looking for a hotel 4* or 3* in park city for the dates march 9 -12. I tried priceline last night for the first time and my bid was not accepted. My questions are: 1. It looks like priceline doesnt give me an option to pick 4* or up. Only 3* or up. Am I missing a selection or something? 2. Is it better to bid for all 4 nights or bid shorter such as 2 and 2? 3. How can I tell I am bidding a realistic amount?-Any help would be great! Thanks in advance.
AaronJB Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)1. Not all ratings may be available in every area.2. Splitting your stay (2/2, for example) is generally necessarily during busier time periods in places like NYC. It could be used in an area like Park City, but either way, it is a tactic generally used as a "last resort" rather than a first option.3. What would be your budget per night? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
doubled1018 Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 oh Im just trying to get the best price i can. I believe my last bid was $70
thereuare Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 To make a "smart" bid you need to do a bit of homework first... what is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable 3* hotel in this area? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
doubled1018 Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 so it seems like around $150. bid half?
AaronJB Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 If you've bid $70 for a 3* in this zone and were not accepted, then I would recommend bumping up to $75 next.Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.
