thereuare Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 This property has not yet been identified. If i were to take a shot at this one, my best guess would be the Westin, with a distant secondary guess the Toronto Don Valley Hotel and Suites)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. stw Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 Thanks for the "educated guesses"Not liking to drive at night, I'm goingto wait a while and hope the prices ondowntown hotels drop into a reasonable range.Failing that, I'll do a "drive by" of these propertieswhen I'm in Toronto in mid-May and see howaccessible they are to TTC, and what hours theTTC operates in those areas.I can postpone a decision until after that scouting trip.

stw Posted February 9, 2010 Author Report Posted February 9, 2010 Hotwire is still showing the downtown 4* properties at over $200.00Used the PRICELINE link on this site to initiate the following bids:Tried bidding $89.00 for a downtown 4* on Priceline and was refused.Dropped the hotel rating to a 3.5* and bid $85.00This bid was accepted by the Delta Chelsa.I had bid up to $82.00 for a 3.5 star on another day and had been refused, so I doubt there was much wiggle room under my bid.Got the same hotel for Aug 10-11 for a $58.00 bidso for June 24-26, I'm paying $15-$20.00a night more than I had hoped. However, it seems to be a prime timeand I can live with the price.Big thing is that it is where I want it to beand I do not have to drive at night.
thereuare Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Congratulations on your success! While a little more than you had hoped, sounds like overall this will work well for your plans and you can live with the price for the convenience it is bringing you.Can you please add your August purchase to the board as a NEW TOPIC so that others will be aware of your win for that date when searching the topic titles of the board and the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay(s).
