NAD314 Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 I am new to Hotwire & Priceline and would like the best price for a decent hotel in Waikiki Beach. Sheraton Waikiki or Hyatt would be nice. Hotwire is $119 for a 4 star with fitness center, pool, business center, laundry facilities and high speed internet access. Any ideas which one that is? Or which one Priceline would offer for those dates and how much I should start bidding at?
thereuare Posted February 6, 2010 Report Posted February 6, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!A property with the amenity combination above has not yet been identified, but if i were to take a guess, i think it may be the Sheraton Waikiki with a 'missing' Restaurant icon.PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, but HOTWIRE gives you the ability to know the amenities offered before your purchase (so for example, if you wanted to ensure the hotel was Beachfront) as well as take an educated guess as to the property you may received... with PRICELINE there is no telling which hotel in the zone at the minimum star rating you select you will receive. So it comes down to what is more important to you for this stay... knowing the amenities and/or taking a guess as to the hotel you may receive OR getting a lower price and receiving any hotel in the zone.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. NAD314 Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 I think I would be ok going with Priceline and trying to get something a little cheaper. Ideally I would like the Hyatt but I guess there is no sure way to get it. What kind of bid would be a good starting poing?
