Hotwire Hotel: 3.5* Ft. Lauderdale (Weston-Plantation-Davie) Sheraton Suites

Looking for good hotel in Ft. Lauderdale Area for Date 3/18/2010 (Thursday) One night, pre cruise

We will have a rental car so location is not to big deal since we we can drive.

Last time we booked via HOTWIRE and got the Westin. I checked HOTWIRE and looks like the Westin is $119.00 plus tax/fees

I starting bidding last night and today in Ft Lauderdale Beach Area and Hollywood

I started at $60, 65, 71, 75, 81, 85, 91 with no luck

How high do we need to go to get a room in these zones (Its almost ridiculous considering its mid March and a weeknight.)

Any recommendations on other zones to try ?

I'd guess within another $10-$15... what is your maximum bid for this stay?

Is there a reason you're not including the Downtown zone in your bidding? (as it's usually a popular one for pre-cruise stays)

Looking to spend as little as possible and get 4* of course! :)

I added the downtown area and started bidding at $65, 71, $74 and $77 with no luck so far

May consider the West Ft Lauderdale - Plantation area as it may be to far for a lot of cruises without cars to bid :)

Was checking Hotwire for my date and found the following 2 hotels. I can't I'd either one with the hotels listed on the Hotwire list

The 3.5* was just asked about, and while not an exact match, it was speculated that the Sheraton Suites Plantation has been upgraded back to the 3.5* level and added a Smoke Free icon, so this would be my best guess for this one.

The 3* matches previous reports for the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Sunrise so that would be my best guess here.

Used PRICELINE 4* all zones up to $91 and still rejected. May try 3.5 stars or consider the HOTWIRE 3.5

I tried Priceline for the past few days. No luck with 4* under $100

I tried 3.5* up to $80 no luck

I read the reviews for the Sheraton Suites Plantation, Ft. Lauderdale West and would be ok for one night pre cruise
