TJ71 Posted February 2, 2010 Report Posted February 2, 2010 Hello!Looking for a manhattan hotel april 15-18, preferably CPSIdeally my pick would be Le Parker Meridien for $120 (bid) but realize those chances are slim.I've been to NYC twice before and stayed in MTE both times, last at the Barclay through priceline. (Ess-a-bagel was great, thanks for the tip!)Although MTE is nice I wouldnt mind trying a hotel in a different area this time.Looking at the Priceline Hotel List for CPS, 3 and 3.5* would certanly be adequate as well so no 4* requirement.Any tips on a bidding strategy? Max bid $140.Regards, Tony
thereuare Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 To clarify... Is CPS the only zone you're willing to bid at this point? Did you want to try up to your limit first for a 3.5* property, then if rejected, try up to your limit for a 3*... OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. TJ71 Posted February 3, 2010 Author Report Posted February 3, 2010 I was hoping for CPS, tried 4* and 3.5* up to $150 with no luck.I also tried 4* at CPS, MTE, MTW and TS up to $151 - same result.Bid at 3.5* for MTE next, ended up with The Roosevelt for $137 (bid history $105, $110, $121, $129)Looks like a decent hotel close to grand central station so I'm happy.Regards, Tony
thereuare Posted February 3, 2010 Report Posted February 3, 2010 Congratualtions on your success!Glad to see this works well for your plans and you're happy with the results. You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
