Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Orange County (Fullerton-Brea) Crowne Plaza Fullerton

I started bidding at $34 for a 2.5* in Fullerton-Brea zone, looking to get Holiday Inn Express or Fairfield Inn or possible upgrade to 3* Residence Inn, all of which are fine hotels with free breakfast. Instead, my opening bid was accepted by 3.5* Crown Plaza Fullerton.

The problem, I later learned, is that this hotel has a tower building in back and low rise motel type buildings up front. As a Priceline customer you will be put in a motel building which, in my opinion, barely rises to 2.5* quality level.

It is my practice to request an upper floor at check-in and the friendly helpful staffer attempted to find an upper room but the computer would not let her select any of the available rooms. Eventually she called out the manager who quickly figured out what was going on and told me tower rooms are not available to Priceline customers. She then offered to upgrade me to a tower room for $25 per night, which I declined. I assume tower room are 3.5*, but I don't know.

Sorry to hear you feel you didn't receive 'proper' treatment as if you were any other hotel guest at this property.

Your post is fine and in the appropriate place, but it would be appreciated if you shared your wins when you receive them and if would use the requested PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your future travel purchases.

Great...I too won a bid at this property for a stay in July. I'll call Priceline and do what you did jerrysch. Was the motel portion at least clean?
