racefaith Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Hi. Looking at 2/10 - 2/13 4* in San Juan and used the "test" method of 2 Adults / 0 child then searched 2 / 2 (adding 2 children)For the 2/0, the complete list comes up with near beach & beach, casino, fitness, golf nearby, spa, biz, laundry, tennis. etc. - I am assuming this is the Conrad because of the beach near and beach logo's.When i tested it by adding 2 children, the first logo was a "boxed" Capital R. The description for such a property seems to lend to a higher level of service or inclusive services.Could you please advise on my assumptions above and possibly identify each property based upon your fantastic expertise!!Thanks in advance. Love the site and will certainly use your PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.
thereuare Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! To clarify for future users, the two icons refered to above are "Near Beach" and "Oceanfront".Sometimes hotels differ from another hotel in the zone by just one icon, so for each property above please list the complete set of amenities that HOTWIRE associates with the hotel offered and we'll take a closer look at this stay. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.PS- please read your messages Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
racefaith Posted February 1, 2010 Author Report Posted February 1, 2010 Thanks for the welcome but does anyone have a response to my inquiries regarding what properties these 2 hotels might be?
thereuare Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 To try to ID the hotels above we need to know the complete set of amenities associated with each property. In other words, for the first hotel no "etc.' in the list of amenities and for the second hotel the full list of amenities associated with the property, not just that the first icon is a "Resort".Please re-post with the full list of amenities associated with each, keeping in mind that if eight icons are shown, you'll need to click the CONTINUE button next to each offering, then the "See all amenities" link under the icons on the subsequent page, to see the full list of amenities. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. racefaith Posted February 1, 2010 Author Report Posted February 1, 2010 Understood. Both properties are 4* in San Juan#1) $129 per night for 2 Adults / 0 Children-Near Beach-Oceanfront-Casino-Fitness Center-Pools-Restaurants-Business Center-Laudry facilities-Golf nearby-Tennis nearby-Spa services#2) $209 per night 2 Adults / 2 Children-"Resort"-Beachfront-Casino-Pools-Restuarants-Business center-Laundry facilities-High speed intetnet access-Tennis nearby-Spa servicesAgain, I differentiated the itinerary by only adding 2 Children to the second. Also was interested in what the "resort" designation means. Had not seen that before.Thank-you again in advsance for your advice and service.
thereuare Posted February 1, 2010 Report Posted February 1, 2010 The first property is a match for the Conrad Condado Plaza while the second property is a match for the InterContinental, so that would be my best guess for each.HOTWIRE defines the RESORT icon as follows:Resorts offer a complete destination experience. Facilities generally include a spa or fitness center, one or more swimming pools, and superior dining options. Depending on location, recreational activities may include water sports, golf, tennis or skiing. Coastal resorts usually boast ocean views or beachfront access. Note: A resort fee may be charged. While the above definition can be somewhat subjective, my own definition is that it will offer more than 'just' a hotel room and will have at least some of the following... manicured areas, more than a 'basic' pool (ie- free form as oposed to rectangular) or will have multiple pools, activities might be offered throughout the day, etc. In a nutshell, the property should offer something to do other than just a place to sleep at nite. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. It matched perfectly to the #1 desription above. Would suggest being a Hilton Honors member which they did honor and gave me an upgrade.
