Atavismus Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 This is my first Priceline attempt, so I am not sure how pleased to be. Times Square wasn't my preference, but I'll take it. I did use this site's PRICELINE link, and I appreciate all the collected wisdom on the board.Anyone know any reasonably priced eats within walking distance?
AaronJB Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Congratulations on your success and Welcome to Betterbidding! :)Certainly a VERY nice deal for this TS property - full price on Expedia is $190 per night for these dates. Hopefully local users can offer some dining tips.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using the site's PRICELINE link.Enjoy your stay.
thereuare Posted January 30, 2010 Report Posted January 30, 2010 Some quick food ideas in the area which are of good value, imo:John's Pizza - (44th between 7th Ave and 8th Ave) good pizza in a beautiful converted church setting. Stick with the pizza (and Pete's-A-Rolls) and would stay away from 'real' entreesArriba Arriba - 51st St and Ninth Ave - not the best mexican food in the city, but close to your hotel and reasonably priced by NYC standards. Margaritas are a bit pricey but GREAT! Typically cramped NYC style with tables close together and service can be hit or miss... may have one of the smallest bathrooms i've ever been in.Chicken (and gyro) Food Cart - $6 for more than you can eat. Southwest corner of 53rd and Sixth... if you like spicey food the hot sauce here is a 'must try' (8pm-4am)... has a cult-like following. There's 3 ideas all within walking distance of the hotel :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Atavismus Posted February 1, 2010 Author Report Posted February 1, 2010 Thanks for the suggestions! Those sound great, especially the food cart. It's good to know that there are solid options for the odd meal when I don't want to venture further afield.
