bgoliver Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Hello all,I'm hoping for some advice on whether I should use HOTWIRE or PRICELINE for the stay. I'm looking for 6 rooms for 3 nights, ideally at the Sheraton or a hotel in that specific area of town.I've been offered a 4 star trough Hotwire for $84 a night. Is that good or should I keep trying priceline? I've read that bidding 15% less on Priceline should work, but so far no dice.Any Suggestions?
thereuare Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Welcome (officially) to BetterBidding!Whether to use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE comes down to what is most important to you for this stay. PRICELINE is usually a little cheaper than HOTWIRE, but HOTWIRE gives you the ability to take an educated guess as to the hotel you may likely receive (important if you're trying to target, or avoid, a specific hotel or trying to stay in a particular part of the zone)How high have you already bid? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. bgoliver Posted January 31, 2010 Author Report Posted January 31, 2010 I've tried $75 so far on Priceline. The offer on Hotwire was a 4star for $82 now. It has Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, and high speed internet. It is also recommended by 85% of customer reviews. Any idea what hotel it might be?Hotwire also has a 2.5 star for $66 now. It has Smoke free, Fitness, Pool, Business Center, high speed internet, and a spa. No customer reviews as of yet. Any idea what hotel it might be?
AaronJB Posted January 31, 2010 Report Posted January 31, 2010 The 2.5* has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. The 4* could be a possible match for a number of different properties, including the Hyatt, Omni, Hilton or Intercontinental. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
