Emma81 Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 HiI'm off to NYC in May for the first time and am looking for a 3.5* hotel located fairly centrally for the usual tourist sights, i.e. CPS, MTE, MTW, ESB, or Time Sq. Although I'm open to suggestions for other areas as well. Our budget is $110 per night, although not sure whether this is realistic or not?? Also not sure if the fact that we're going for 7 nights will be a problem, and whether it would be advisable to split the stay between two hotels? Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance!
AaronJB Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding! :)Would your budget be $110 "all-in" (with tax included) or $110 + tax? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 Not sure if $110 will be enough for these dates (Spring is generally more expensive than the lower winter rates you're currently seeing being accepted), but it doesn't cost anything to try so it's worth a shot...When bidding 3.5* in NYC you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* CPS, MTW, MTE, TS...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* ESB...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* CPS, MTW, MTE, TS, ESB...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110Also, note that the Millenium UN is an option at the 3.5* level in the MTW zone. While a 'good' hotel, it is located somewhat east and is about a 15 minutes walk from the subway... if this is not an acceptable hotel then i'd exclude MTE from your bidding above.lAny questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Emma81 Posted February 4, 2010 Author Report Posted February 4, 2010 Please could someone help me I.D. a 3.5* hotel for the above dates in MTE. It is currently listed for $129. Amenities are listed as Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center & High Speed Internet Access. It has 3.5* trip advisor rating with over 300 reviews. Thanks very much
AaronJB Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Please keep all posts regarding this trip in this thread. 300+ reviews is the number of HOTWIRE reviews. The tripadvisor rating of 3.5/5 and the amenities could possibly match the Roosevelt, Doubletree Met or Tudor.Have you tried the PRICELINE strategy illustrated above? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
