Hotwire Hotel: Trying to find a good hotel on the vegas strip

I'm trying to find the best deal for a hotel on the strip. I'm not too concerned if its north or south, I just want the best place for a good price. I'll be booking either 2, 3, or 4 rooms for the trip. I'm looking to spend around $100 per room per night. The place needs to have a casino too. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much for your help!

Could have sworn I added the dates last night..oh well, it was late. Anyway, I'll be there 3/11 - 3/14. The rooms are still up in the air, as of right now I'll definitely need 3 rooms, the 4th room is questionable.

the budget talking to everyone in the group, the max budget per night is somewhere in the $120-$130 range. So I don't know what the taxes normally are (I hear some places have "resort fees"?). So that's the starting point.

We're looking for something ~3 stars and up. I know I can easily get a 3 star for my offer price, but I'm looking for a best value to cost ratio. I hope that makes sense. As for the region, as I said before on the strip. I know that the zones extend a little beyond the strip, but I'd rather a hotel right on the strip.

Thanks for your help.

Not to complicate things. But it sounds that going with HOTWIRE is a better option for you.

If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.

Let us know what you think.

yes I completely agree with your observation. I would rather have good experience at the hotel and spend a little more than take a gamble. this is a surprise for my friend so I want to have it be a nice trip for him.

I guess part of my problem is that I don't know much about the LV hotels in the first place. I know that it is better to be on the strip than not, but other than that I've never been to vegas myself. I was kind of hoping someone here could make a good recommendation as well as help me get a good deal.

Honest, I'm waiting to hear from 2 more people. If they don't get their act together and let me know if they can make it by the time I find a deal, they will be responsible for booking their own room (probably at a higher rate). I'm just want to get this taken care of so I can work on booking other aspects of this trip too.

Also if someone would provide 2-3 different options at different price levels so I can have to group weigh in on how much they want to spend.

thanks so much!

Your options may change depending upon how many rooms and guests per room you need, or over time, and what is offered at the momennt may not be consistent with what is available once you're ready to commit to a purchase. Let us know once you hear from the other couple, or set them free, and we'll see what's available at that time.

after pressuring them for an answer, they can't commit to coming. So its 3 rooms. Can you give me a few options to mail around to then so I can book it tonight or tomorrow morning?

thanks

I'm assuming double occupancy for each of the 3 rooms? If so, here is what i think is interesting around your price point:

Planet Hollywood Towers (new 'condo' property): $116

Planet Hollywood: $119

MGM Grand: $100 (need to book by 2/1/10)

great! Thanks so much for your help. I'm going to poll the crew tomorrow and book the hotel by sunday. Thanks again for all your help, and I'll be sure to use the HOTWIRE links on this forum to book it. I will also report back and let you know what I got and the prices. Thanks again, I think I found a new website to consult before I book travel plans!

Ok. After talking to everyone we are ready to book MGM. We need 3 rooms for march 11 checking out the 14th. How do I book this? What selection options give you the MGM for $100 a night?

Thanks

Use this link to go to the MGM Grand website

The rate for March 11th check-in should appear for $273 (which is the toal for 3 nites, $91/nite)

Please use the link above to book MGM Grand website (and ask your friends to do the same if they will be making their own reservations)
