Priceline Hotel: First Time in Vegas! Need Advice 2/5-2/8 Strip N or S

My friend and I are going to Vegas for a girl's weekend. We would like to stay on the Strip at a 4 star or better hotel for $100 or less. I've read some of the other topics on here and am trying to figure out the best way to get a fun hotel for us. If I bid on South Strip, is the Luxor the one that normally wins? Sorry if I'm not posting in the right way!

I wouldn't say that Luxor is the "regular" hotel in this zone. But if you want to avoid it so only bid 5* in the south zone. or you can go with HOTWIRE. If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.

If you would like to get help with a bidding strategy so please post your budget/night, zone(s) you're willing to stay in and the rating for the hotel.
