I stayed at the Hilton between Jan 2. and Jan 6, 2005.

I really enjoyed the stay. I guess it was the best hotel experience I have ever had, including non-priceline stays.

When I arrived before 2pm on Jan 2nd, I politely asked for a room upgrade, saying it was our anniversary trip.

The front desk person told me that a regular room was available right away, but I needed to wait till around 4pm for a room with a balcony.

I thought I'd better wait a couple of hours for a nicer 4-day stay.

When I checked back at around 3:10pm, to my surprise, she upgraded me for a villa!!

Even she seemed happy to be able to give me an upgrade.

As many people said, the stay in a villa was absolutely great.

The room was spacious with a great view of the pools and sea; I was able to see the sun rise in the room every morning.

It'd be perfect for a family with kids (although we have none).

I agree with the all the reviews available online (e.g., tripadvisor.com), so I won't say much, but the hotel is very solid.

One downside was that there were lots of people arriving on the day of my checkout (Jan 6th), and they were not given rooms until 4pm.

Actually, due to the large crowd, it took me around 30 minutes to check out (there was a mistake in my bill, which was fixed though).

In summmary, there can be some minor things some people may feel unhappy about.

However, other good things at this property easily add up to exceed those minor inconveniences.

My stay at the Hilton was great, and I would strongly recommend the Hilton.
