Atlanta30338 Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Love the location and charm of the Hudson.Tried 3.5* in Central park South for $80 and denied.Added Chelsea (no 3.5* or 4*) for $90 and denied.Added Upper east side (no 3.5* or 4*) for $100 and denied.Probably need to get a little closer to my dates before trying again and starting with only a one night stay and adding from there. Will try again in a week.
thereuare Posted January 28, 2010 Report Posted January 28, 2010 ...starting with only a one night stay and adding from there.Note that if you intend to use the "add a nite" feature it's not always offered, and when it is, you can only extend the stay up to the number of your nites as your original booking. So if you book one nite and receive the hotel you're hoping for, you won't be able to add the additional two nites you need (you'll only be able to try to add one additional nite)If you're trying to target, or avoid, a specific property HOTWIRE may be a better option for this stay... it may cost a little more than PRICELINE, but you'll be able to take an educated guess as to hotel you may receive before your purchase. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Atlanta30338 Posted January 29, 2010 Author Report Posted January 29, 2010 Great info about add a night in the previous message.Tried again, used the betterbidding PRICELINE link which I forgot last time. Tried 3.5* in Central park South for $90 and denied.Added Chelsea (no 3.5* or 4*) for $95 and denied.Added Upper east side (no 3.5* or 4*) for $100 and denied.Probably need to get a little closer to my dates before trying again
thereuare Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Keep us updated. However, i'll add that i don't recommend trying only for this specific hotel.... you could easily receive a different hotel in this zone, and end up paying more than you would for an equivalent property in another nearby zone. If this is the rout you choose to pursue that's fine, but you need to undersand the risk(s) involved. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links. AaronJB Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 The Hudson is $152 on Orbitz, plus coupon code WELCOME10 takes 10% off = $136.80. Definitely higher than what you've already bid, but if you are primarily interested in this property and start bidding higher towards than level without being accepted, just wanted to offer this as an alternate idea.Expedia has this property for $150 for these dates and coupon code 10NOV takes $10 off per night. Additionally, this Expedia option also offers (more details on Expedia):"All-Loops Bus Tour: 2 Tickets$108 value See the Big Apple at your own pace with this unlimited 48-hour pass. Hop on and off classic double-decker buses at over 30 stops, including the Empire State Building, the Financial District, Greenwich Village, and more. Available daily from 9am-5pm."Please use the site's Orbitz.com or Expedia.com links.
