myrab Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Hello everyone. I need to stay near the Hilton when I go to Brussels as my friends will be there. I noticed that most people who used the PRICELINE link and bid around $47 for 4* got the NH Atlanta, which would be ideal. Others wins like $67 for 4* Renaissance and NH City Center are too far for me to walk. I'm not sure if the city has cheap and easy late night transportation. So should I risk paying more and bid through the HOTWIRE link and try and match the amenities or should I just try and match the price of the wins for NH Atlanta and hope I get it? Thanks very much for your opinions.
thereuare Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 If there are hotels in the zone that will not work for your plans then i wouldn't use PRICELINE for this stay... better to use HOTWIRE (assuming you can make a reasonable guess as to the hotel offered) and purchase something you believe will accomodate your needs for this trip. What are the date(s) of your stay? If you search HOTWIRE does anything appear within your budget which you think will work for your needs? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. myrab Posted January 27, 2010 Author Report Posted January 27, 2010 Hello. I will be in Brussels for just the night of March 28th. When I used the HOTWIRE link, it shows 5 hotels for 4* quality in the Brussels area map. My budget for the night is $100 USD. I found a hotel for $75 with the following amenities: Fitness Center, Business Center, Golf Nearby, Restaurant. Perhaps I should go down half a star rating. There is a 3.5* hotel for $73 with boutique hotel, fitness center, restaurant, fitness center, and high speed internet access. Neither of these match any of the Hotwire wins that I could find on the forum. I would be pleased with either of these hotels if I knew they were somewhat close to the Hilton.
thereuare Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 If you change your search to 2adults/1childre a 'new' 4* hotels for $72/nite with the following amenity icons:Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, TennisThis is a match for the Sheraton Towers so that would be my best guess... would this work for your plans?Given this is about the same pricepoint as your 2adults/0children search, and the amenities on that search is a subset of this one, it may be the same hotel as this one, with the 2adult/0children search 'hiding' some of the amenities. However, if this property works for your needs it would be better to purchase with the full amenities showing when search 2adults/1child since this is the amenity combination that has previously been seen for this property. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know your thoughts and how it goes or if we can be of further help. myrab Posted February 7, 2010 Author Report Posted February 7, 2010 Hello. Thank you for your advice. I did not end up bidding on or booking a hotel. I am going to stay at a friend's apartment for this leg of the trip, but based on your advice I think I will use the HOTWIRE link on this website to look for hotels for the rest of the trip. This seems like the best way to go when looking for a specific area.
