Priceline Hotel: Request for bidding help for central NY in September

First time user here and have used Priceline once before in the UK a few years ago. I have also read a few of the topics on here so I know how it works.

Myself and my wife are visiting New York, arriving Thursday 16th September 2010, flying home Sunday 19th September. I know its a fair bit away and have read the topic on early/late bidding but flights have been booked so my dates are confirmed. Being the impatient sort I would like to get a hotel booked.

Ideally I am looking for a 4* in central Manhatten seeing as we are visiting for a special occasion (wife's 40th). On our one previous trip to New York 10 years ago we stayed at the Roosevelt which I note is a 3.5* so would also probably be willing to take that level of hotel as well. Our plans are for shopping, theatre, sight seeing so I am happy with MTE, MTW, CPS and having looked at the hotel reviews, also MSG and ESB.

Price wise I would ideally like to pay

$160 all-in is only about a $133 bid price and at the moment that will not likely be enough for a 4* for these dates... and i'm guessing not enough for a 3.5* at this point either. However, regarding the 3.5* property, while the Rooselvelt may be convenient for your needs, there is one property in this zone at the 3.5* level, the Millennium UN, which is a bit far east and about a 15 minute walk to the subway... would this be an accepable location? (as this will tell us if you're able to include this zone in your bidding or not). $200 'all-in' is about a $167 bid price which seems more realistic, but also a bit of a stretch for a 4* at the moment.

Let us know what you would like to try for first, a 4* in your acceptable zones or a lesser priced 3.5*, and if the latter if you want to include MTE or not. As well, i notice you didn't include Times Square in your zones above, is that a zone you're not interested in?
