Hotwire Hotel: 2.5* Newark (Airport EWR) Country Inn and Suites

Though the price is not great , but I was restricted by airport shuttle option so had to take it. Flying 13th evening from EWR.

Total with taxes 80.62$ where as booked directly it costs 80.58$

Amenities :

Airport Shuttle,Complimentary Breakfast ,Fitness Center ,Pool(s),Laundry Facilities

High-speed Internet Access

Okay NOW here is the thing.

Looked up and found its 4 cents cheaper on hotel own site and 1 $ cheaper on Expedia. Not impressed with hotwire. Negative saving!!!

Sorry to see the savings didn't material for this purchase. I looked into this a little and the room rate is actually cheaper thru HOTWIRE, but after fees and taxes, the Expedia rate is $1 less, so unfortunately you're not eligible for HOTWIRE's Double the Difference Guarantee.

Just as with PRICELINE purchases, you need to do a little research before making an opaque purchase. As this property has been reported to the board previous with this amenity set, you could have researched hotel direct rates and seen that there weren't much savings for this purchase (although you did bring your cost down via HotDollars which, net/net, hopefully made this a decent deal for you)

On the plus side, this hotel is convenient to Newark Airport and generally gets good reviews.
