sdmomof3
Wondering if this is John Ascuaga's Nugget? I'm trying to stay at this specific hotel if possible. Doesn't appear there are any other 4* properties in Sparks. $53 for 1 or 2 people. Amenities as follows:Casino, fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, golf nearby, tennis, spa. Also mentions an approx. $5 per night resort fee. When searching for 2 people there is a +$4 option to select bed choice (either King or 2 Queens). Also wondering if anyone thinks I can get this hotel even cheaper on Priceline as it appears as a 3 1/2* in the Sparks zone for Priceline and is on the Better Bidding list of Priceline hotels. Again, there doesn't appear to be another 3 1/2* property in Sparks and I could bid exclusively in the Sparks area. Since I'm going alone, don't care how many beds I end up with. If I do bid on Priceline, anyone have any recommendations of what $ amount to begin bidding with? (Orbitz and Cheap tickets have this property advertised for $60 before taxes/fees. Priceline has it for $80.)Thanks for any advice! Link to comment
thereuare
While the amenties match the Nugget, there are other properties which have this amenity combination plus a Shuttle icon... all you need is one of these hotels to not show the Shuttle icon and you can easily end up with another property. As well, the Tripadvisor rating shown by HOTWIRE is not consistent with the Nugget, so that's a cautionary flag.Since this is the only hotel you want in the area i wouldn't chance it given that for $7 more you can get exactly what you want from either Orbitz or Cheap Tickets (we're affilated with both so please use the links in this post or in our support page if you decide to go this route)Similarly, i think PRICELINE is a risk since the hotels lists on the board are only hotels reported to the board and this area is not bid all that frequently... so there could be other hotels not yet reported to the board as well as hotels already reported which have changed their star rating. You may decide to take the chance and it will all work out fine... but for me, the $10-$15 savings you might see isn't worth the risk, imo. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. (or our Orbitz or Cheap Tickets links if you go that route)Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. sdmomof3
We ended up booking direct through the hotel, John Ascuaga's Nugget, as we were able to get a reduced group rate (and guaranteed room in the East Tower which has been upgraded) through the convention my husband is attending.
