Hello Everyone and Happy New Year!

I hope this time finds things getting a wee bit better for us all!!!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I am hoping, yes hoping to see if I can win either Harrahs or Ceasars, both 4* Priceline, Atlantic City, NJ.
Dates are 2/5/2010
2 nights
2 rooms
Up to $100 per room per night to start, not sure about max. bid yet.
I am going to study further to see what prices and or deals I can find for this location.
That will help me decide whether I will bid higher or change star level.
I have done research on the boards before posting now, as is my usual.
I just keep seeing lower star wins. Sheraton, Hilton.
I kind of have a challenge at hand, given to me once again to come up with the Best Deal for us.
Every vacation we have taken since 1994, I have used these boards and SCORED!!!!! And I mean incredible deals.
5* Resort for $100, yes, $100 (reg. *395.00 a night)
3.5* for $50, $55.
ThereUare has always been there and taught me so much or should I say, has made me do my homework,
pointed me in the right direction to learn how to use the boards and Win. Thank you again!
Priceline bidding is no easy task, you must read and read and then read again and truly understand the bidding process.
Then you must understand the Re-Bid process, the zones, the maps, etc.
It looks easy, but there is a Real Method.
So anyway, enough babble, I feel like I am home, coming here to the boards.
Right off the bat, I need to know if there is a feeling that this is possible.
To win 4* in Atlantic City for around $100 per night.
So any help, comments, suggestions, post away.
Thanks,
Liz
It's possible, but given 4* these two hotels not typically discounting rates too deeply, i'd say the chances are not that great (although worth trying). As well, if you are successful i think your chances of winning the Chelsea are greater than one of the other hotels you mentioned.
At the 4* level you have FOUR re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.
(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)
Just to be sure....
It looks to me that my 3 re-bid zones for Atl. City are
Zone 1 is 7 Vineland because they only offer up to 2 1/2 star.
Zone 2 is 3 Atlantic City West because they only offer up to 2 star.
Zone 3 is 5 Somers Point because they only offer up to 3 star.
Is this correct?
Thanks,
Liz
Winning Bid - 1 Night for $90.00 plus tax $19.35, 2 rooms Grand Total $218.70
Okay, that was a long bidding process! Whew!
I followed most of the strategy above and added 3 star.
I had to do quite a bit of "close browser, re-open new browser THROUGH Better Bidding and re-bid zones and up bid.
I did small increments towards the end. $85, $89, then $90.
I see Priceline offering the Chelsea for $220 for the same date.
The Boat Show is in town for this date, otherwise I really think I'd have done better. An expected 40,000 attendance in Town at the Convention Center.
We are going to the boat show should be fun!
Thanks for your help as always.
Congratulations on your success!
Glad to see you were able to find something affordable for this stay and received a nice deal considering the busy nites.
Can you please add a reply to this thread confirming the star rating of this hotel... as THIS LINK shows this as a 3* rating thru PRICELINE (although there are two different towers, so it's possible one is 3* rated and the other 4* rated??)
Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.
Enjoy your stay.
The Chelsea Hotel - Luxe Tower - 3*
Definately Luxe Tower. I confirmed it with the Hotel.
The Tower is supposed to be the nicer area of the hotel as opposed to the other half which is
called the Annex.
The room is a confirmed King City View, Luxe Tower
I e-mailed the hotel with a few questions.
1. Where is the room located? Luxe Tower City View
2. Upgrade to King Partial Water View is an additional $25.
3. Upgrade to King Ocean View is an additional $30
4. There is a $15.00 fee to use just the Jacuzzi, Sauna, Steam Room.
The hotel has a very nice website, www. chelseahotel. com
The hotel has rooms way under $200. per night thru the website as of this posting 1/2010,
the most inexpensive rooms are in the "Annex" portion of the hotel.
Most of the reviews I read were very good, good to excellent on Trip Advisor.
Not as good on PRICELINE, hotel reviews. Quite a bit of complaints about there "not being enough hot water in the mornings".
