jmeier Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Hi :)I just discovered hotwire and priceline. Can you tell me if I some how can make sure, that the hotel is on the beach before i book?Another question: can I be absolutlty sure that I get a great deal? I mean, I would hate to take a chance, only to find out that the hotel I booked is 20 dollars less on Hotels.com :) Thank you :o
AaronJB Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. There is no way to guarantee a hotel by the beach via PRICELINE. With HOTWIRE, one can look for a "near beach" or "beachfront" icon.In the rare case that you can find a hotel cheaper elsewhere, you can request a "double-the-difference" guarantee with HOTWIRE. Otherwise, with HOTWIRE it is possible to make an "educated guess" (not guaranteed, but a guess based on what's showing) as to which hotels are showing, which will allow you to compare prices to Expedia or other service. Additionally, with Orbitz one can get an idea of what hotels at a certain star rating are priced at in an area in general. Please let us know if you have further questions. Please use the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE, Orbitz or Expedia links.

AaronJB Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 It varies substantially by date, city, hotel, traffic (busy time of year) and other factors - there's no way to really offer an average. However, 40-50% is common, and 60-70% is not unheard of. Again though, it all depends. Please provide your dates of travel and we will take a look into the above HOTWIRE listing. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Thanks.
jmeier Posted January 25, 2010 Author Report Posted January 25, 2010 the date of travel is 09.01.2010 to 09.08.2010 :)Thank you so much!
yellowdog Posted January 25, 2010 Report Posted January 25, 2010 jmeierBest guess for this property would be the Ocean Sky Resort. Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and let us know how it goes or if you need any additional help with your stay.Yellowdog.
