Beens Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Hi there. I have really been enjoying reading this forum and I am trying to learn as much as possible about both priceline and hotwire. My question is...if I am looking for a specific hotel (sheraton waikiki) for specific dates (2/9-2/19) and I see that on Hotwire it is obviously not the current "offering", is there a chance that if I check again tomorrow, 2 days from now, etc. that this hotel might be offered? Rright now according to the amenities listed it can't be Sheraton (not beachfront) looks like it's probably marriott.According to the "calendar of wins" some people were successful in getting the sheraton for at least some of these dates for $119 and $129. I hope this is an appropirate area to post my question. I don't want to wait too long and run out of choices. It seems like last minute searches might get great deals, yet the 2 that I see on the calendar were both searched/booked in December.Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!Thank You!Amy C.
thereuare Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!HOTWIRE will only show one hotel at each star level per zone (the hotel with the lowest rate is the one shown). So if a different hotel is currently being offered, a new hotel won't be offered until one of the following happens:1) the current hotel raises it's price, pulls, or sells all of the inventory they have allotted to HOTWIRE2) a new hotel offers rooms for a rate lower than the current hotelIf you wait the hotel you are hoping for may never appear and/or rates can go higher... if you book now rates can go lower and/or the hotel you want could appear later. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too!
