gilberto Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Hi,I'm planning a trip to NYC, 04/02/2010-04/07/2010, group of 8 - need four rooms. I will need a 3,5* for around 120 or a 4* for around $140, without taxes. I'm flexible about location, but the Priceline have rejected my bids up to $140 in MTW, MTE, ESB, MSG, TS on 4*.Any ideas? I have already book the Tudor Hotel for about 152,00 on Booking.com, but I can cancel it.Thanks. I'm from Brazil and I will stay 24 days in USA - Denver, Frisco-CO, Las Vegas, San Francisco and NYC. Its my first post but I had already used the PRICELINE link here to reserve my Denver Hotels.
thereuare Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! At the moment i think it's going to take more than $140 for a 4* hotel for these dates. However, i notice you're not including CPS in your bidding, is there a hotel in that area you're trying to avoid or are you not interested in that area? As you've already bid up to your limit for a 4* hotel, are you now ready to try for a 3.5* property? If so, which zones are you willing to accept at the 3.5* level?Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.PS- please share your Denver PRICELINE wins with the board by starting a NEW TOPIC in the PRICELINE - Colorado section of the board as maybe the information can help another user :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
gilberto Posted January 22, 2010 Author Report Posted January 22, 2010 I just post my success in Denver.Sorry but I had already included CPS in my bidding. I think I can try to bid a 3,5* in MTW, MTE, ESB, MSG, TS and CTP, But I will very happy if I can stay in Helmsley or in Affinia. But I'm trying to avoid Hudson, Sheraton Manhattan and maybe Doubletree Metropolitan. What do you think about that? And How Much you think I can get a 4* in these areas?thanks.
thereuare Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 For a 4* i'd guess $155-$180.If you're trying to avoid the 3.5* specific properties above, why not exlude the zones they're located in from your bidding? I think it's too early before your stay to compromise what you really want. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. gilberto Posted January 22, 2010 Author Report Posted January 22, 2010 Ok. But you think I will make a best deal if I wait some time to use PRICELINE? To do that, How many days I could wait until I try again with a better chance?
thereuare Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 Nobody can say if rates will go down... or up between now and your stay.See the related link in our PRICELINE FAQ for more on this subject. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. gilberto Posted January 24, 2010 Author Report Posted January 24, 2010 Yesterday I tried 3* MSG, MTE, UES and Chelsea U$ 115 - rejected rebid 3* adding Long island U$120 - rejected rebid 3* adding TS U$125 - rejected. :):) . But I had success bidding in San Francisco using this PRICELINE link, I had just posted it!
thereuare Posted January 24, 2010 Report Posted January 24, 2010 You have a lot of time between now and your stay, and a back-up reservation... i wouldn't deviate too far from what you really want at this point in time. Inventory/prices may or may not get better as you get closer to your stay, but if you prefer higher rated hotels (ie- 3.5* and 4* properties) i wouldn't compromise too much (ie- down to the 3* level) this early before your stay. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for your purchases :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
