howdog14 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Looking to book either on priceline or hotwire for 1/27-1/30. Priceline has Sheraton as 3 1/2 star and Hilton at 4*. Trying to figure out whether Hotwire's star ratings would be the same. Both only have 1 4-star hotel and 1 3-1/2 star hotel. Any thoughts? Thanks...
thereuare Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!PRICELINE and HOTWIRE each use their own star rating system, so the rating assigned to a hotel thru one service may or may not be the same as the star rating thru the other service. Both only have 1 4-star hotel and 1 3-1/2 star hotel.I don't think you can say with with any degree of certainty. You can see hotels reported to the board in the corresponding Priceline Hotel List and Hotwire Hotel List, but as per the comments at the top of each, these are only hotels reported to the board and there can be (and likely are) others. Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. howdog14 Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 Any thoughts on a priceline bidding strategy for a Nassau/Paradise Island resort? Again, going 1/27-1/30. Atlantis and its various properties seems to be the only resort listed on priceline. I have a few days and have tried a few low-ball bids ($140 and $160) with no luck. Have also bid $70 for a 3 1/2 star with no luck....Thanks.
thereuare Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Atlantis and its various properties seems to be the only resort listed on PRICELINE.Again, note the comments at the top of the hotel list.At the Resort level what would be your maximum bid? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. howdog14 Posted March 29, 2010 Author Report Posted March 29, 2010 We ended up booking directly through Breezes rather than using PRICELINE...too nervous about where we might end up.
