ICYBLUE1203 Posted January 20, 2010 Report Posted January 20, 2010 Hello everyone,I will be traveling to New York on a business trip and flying in early and leaving late. My employer has paid for my hotel in Times Square for the days of business (2/13-2/17), but I need to cover my room for my personal days which are 2/11-2/12 and 2/18-2/20. Location doesn't matter for me, I want to head out for Fashion Week and wherever the nightlife is fun. Maybe get a cheap place the first weekend, then move to a nicer on my last? Is bidding ahead of time better than bidding the night before or the same day?I've only bid through Priceline for same day bookings when I need a room in LA (I live in Los Angeles). What would be the best strategy to bid in this case? All suggestions are welcome and thanks in advance!

("cheap" is a relative term, especially in NYC). What is the minimum star level you're willing ot accept for this leg of your stay? Are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is the least expensive hotel at your minimum star rating your goal for this leg of your trip? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
