yellowdog Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 I remember you :) Please follow-up your previous Hotwire orlando thread with whatever you ended up doing for that stay... then bump this thread and we'll have a look at the above.Use this link for the Howtwire Orlando Hotel List so you can start narrow down the condosYellowdog.
dszklarek Posted January 19, 2010 Author Report Posted January 19, 2010 You have a great memory Yellowdog, you helped me out a ton last year around the same time. We ended up at the The Omni for $89 a night and it was spectacular. We absolutely loved everything about the place- especially the par 3 golf course right there. We are looking at a condo this year as the kids are a little bigger and all 5 of shared 2 beds last time. We could do it again, but it is tight when eating in the room and then sleeping. So, we are torn- loved The Omni but would like some more space. When we were there we went to look at the Gaylord and it looked great, but cost with parking and resort fee and everything seemed pretty high. Thanks again
yellowdog Posted January 19, 2010 Report Posted January 19, 2010 Did you look at the list and found someting? Please post your details for the Omni stay in your previous post that i have linked for you.Yellowdog.
dszklarek Posted January 20, 2010 Author Report Posted January 20, 2010 I looked over the list an am trying to remember everything I learned last time. But no, I dont know which places these are. Sorry I did not update that other thread, I was confused on following the link.
thereuare Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 What are the date(s) of your stay? How many adults/children are you including on your search? If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to each of these offerings and then click the "See all amenities" link under the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dszklarek Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 Our flight arrives on April 6th and we are staying until April 13th. I am putting in the search 2 adults, 3 kids, but we are only interested in a Condo or at least suite. I have messed with the dates some because we are thinking of staying in Cocoa Beach for the first few days of the trip depending on the available hotels in Disney to save some money. If we think the Disney hotel is good enough to stay at without going to Disney every day and not overly expensive we may stay there the whole time. Thanks for the help.
thereuare Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 I am putting in the search 2 adults, 3 kids...You can only search HOTWIRE for up to quad occupancy. If you're searching for more than that, HOTWIRE will default to searching for two rooms. How old are your children? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. dszklarek Posted January 21, 2010 Author Report Posted January 21, 2010 I see what you mean and I was mistaken. I was searching for 2 adults and 2 children and then just limiting to condos. We all stayed in a one room standard last year so any condo would be fine for us. Thanks
thereuare Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 Assuming you're willing to take the occupancy risk of booking for four when you'll actually be five... do the same hotels appear when searching for 1room/2adults/2children?For each of the offerings please click the CONTINUE button next to the offering and then the "See all amenities" link under the icons on the subsequent page, as this is the only way to see the complete amenities associated with the HOTWIRE offerings. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. dszklarek Posted January 22, 2010 Author Report Posted January 22, 2010 I have no problem booking for the 4 and having the extra. Here is what I see4* $92 Disney Main Gate - Celebration Area (I think this is Mona Lisa)1-Bedroom Suite Fully-equipped Kitchen Complimentary Breakfast Daily Housekeeping Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center 24-hour Front Desk High-speed Internet Access Condo 3* $39 Disney Main Gate - Celebration Area (I think this is Westgate Town Center, This makes me a little nervous if it would be a nice place to spend a few days away from the parks)Studio Children's Activity Program Fitness Center Pool(s) Tennis Nearby Kitchenette Condo 3.5* $79 Lake Buena Vista - Downtown Disney (I think it is Holiday Inn Club Vacations)Resort Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Now I am getting irritated with the sight. When I click on the continue, it is showing me totally different prices and I think hotels with different stars. So, I dont think the amentites even match my description. When I click on the $39 link it says $92 per night. I would love a few opinions which condo is the best for a family to spend full off days from the parks with entertainment at the best deal on Hotwire and then I will try and match that up. Thanks if anyone has some knowledge of that.
thereuare Posted January 22, 2010 Report Posted January 22, 2010 I'm not having any of the pricing issues you describe above... but run another HOTWIRE search and let us know if you see soemthing different for the 3* in the Disney Main Gate-Celebration area. You do realize that LBV property you've listed is not a Condo? Also, your approach of "what are some of the best condos in the area and then i'll try to match them up" is not a recommended approach, as whatever your research determines is the best may not ever be offered for your dates (or not even a HOTWIRE participating property) Better to try to ID what is offered, then pick what you perceive to be the best value from among the offerings. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
