iridetucked Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 I noticed a couple people on here got that price for $105. I'm going to New York from 3/10-3/16. I've been bidding with that price but no luck. Does it matter what day, month, week, etc that I am bidding? Or should I increase my bid?BTW, I was using the PRICELINE link from here.
AaronJB Posted January 18, 2010 Report Posted January 18, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Rates and availability vary by dates; what one user was able to get for one set of dates may not be what be what another user is able to get for another set. Additionally, there's no telling which 4* in the zone you may get - you may possibly get the GH, but you also may get a different 4* when bidding this zone. If your bid was not accepted at $105, it will require a higher bid; I would recommend trying $110 next and if not successful, then $115. However, rates are not particularly high on these dates, and I'd be surprised if bidding required going too much higher. Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE link to start your bidding.
iridetucked Posted January 20, 2010 Author Report Posted January 20, 2010 I hear you. Seems hard to get deals lately. I need to find a hotel from 3/10-3/16 and had no luck so far. I don't know if I should wait last minute or just bid higher now.
AaronJB Posted January 21, 2010 Report Posted January 21, 2010 What have you bid up to so far in terms of star rating/price/zones?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links.
iridetucked Posted February 16, 2010 Author Report Posted February 16, 2010 No luck at all. I want anything 3* and up. Max I'm looking to spend is $115. Tried MTE and MSG. I'm looking for any area around there. I would love to spend $90 a night but so far, no luck. Already tried $100, $105, & $110 at MTE, MSG, & ESB are with no luck. Any advices?
thereuare Posted February 16, 2010 Report Posted February 16, 2010 1) please read your messages2) HOTWIRE has a 3.5* hotel in the Chelsea-MSG zone for $113/nite, for which my best guess is the The Yorker Ramada Plaza, which has generally recieved good reviews since their recent renovation.. would this be of any interest and/or work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. iridetucked Posted February 19, 2010 Author Report Posted February 19, 2010 It's a 3 star @ Chelsea - Madison Square Garden Hotel. Amenity is only high speed internet access. Any idea what hotel it is?
thereuare Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 Is this for the same dates, 3/10-3/16, as your other Priceline New York City thread? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted February 19, 2010 Report Posted February 19, 2010 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. The 3* above has not yet been identified, and with just an Internet icon, an amenity present at most 3* hotels in NYC, i don't think we'll be able to add much insight. HOWEVER, why is this a consideration when there is a 3.5* hotel offered by HOTWIRE in the same zone, higher rated, less money, and better TA reviews... is there something in particular you're looking for from this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. iridetucked Posted August 21, 2010 Author Report Posted August 21, 2010 Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I canceled my trip on that stay.
